10k or not 10k?

I had signed up a year ago to take part in a 10k race around London that was due to happen tomorrow. However, due to the severe weather the event has been cancelled. Whilst I was nervous about completing my first 10k, I was even more nervous about the weather. I didn't really want to end up dodging things flying in the air! So part of me was thankful that this has been cancelled.

I did however, set a goal for myself this year to run a 10k race. I could still receive a medal for the race that I signed up for if I manage to run 10k in the next week and send this through to the event organisers with proof. I had planned to run the 10k today along with the park run but I couldn't get my app to work to record the run which was annoying. I won't be able to run 10k during the week so I am only left with running tomorrow or next Saturday so may try and get up early and get this out of the way tomorrow. Although I do need to be careful of the weather as the event was cancelled for a reason!

If I don't manage to run the 10k this week to get my medal, I will need to find another 10k race this year for me to take part in if I am to achieve my goal. Even if I manage to do a 10k this week, I would still like to take part in a run with lots of others just so I can experience the atmosphere.

I will see how I feel tomorrow.
