I didn't want to write a post about this as there is so much about this in the news and on social media I wanted to try and avoid it. I, like many others of you have my concerns and I am worried about my friends and family. I hope everyone is looking out for each other.
There has been the mayhem of people buying all the toilet roll, pasta and the like but I want to focus on the positives that I have seen. The looking out for each other. I have just joined a local community online in my local area to help those who will need assistance to help their community. The good thing is we have social media and our phones so hopefully won't feel so isolated. We really do need to look out for each other at these difficult times. My parents have set up a Whatsapp group with their neighbours to see if anyone needs any help so there is a sense of community around.
Last month I was writing about 'be kind' and we really need to follow through on this. I saw a man yesterday carrying toilet roll and I never thought that I would think 'where did he get that from?' but that is the way it is at the moment. Today, whilst walking the aisles in Tescos, I went down the toilet roll aisle and another man was there and jokingly said, 'where are the toilet rolls?' we both smiled and laughed. We need to find the humour in this situation. Yes it is serious and worrying but we need to try and enjoy ourselves too. I have loved the videos of the Italians singing and playing music whilst on lock down. It has made me smile even in this difficult time.
Let's look out for each other in however way we can.
