This week I received my medal for the Great North Run solo that I did. I ran 40 times over a 78 days period and ended up running over 100 miles. I decided to do this challenge as I enjoy running, however, I soon discovered to fit all of the runs in I was going to need to run almost every day some weeks.
The weeks I ran almost every day, the runs became a bit more of a chore and I didn't really enjoy them. After starting the challenge, I learnt that you could get a bronze, silver or gold depending on the distance you run, 100 miles was bronze, 200 miles silver and 300 miles gold. Silver and gold were out of my league but I did set myself the goal to run over 100 miles and I just about did it.
I am so glad I did it and I am so proud of myself for not giving up when I really couldn't be bothered. It just shows that you can do anything when you put your mind to it and I am so glad I didn't quit!
