There has been a lot of things being spoken about this week, whether it is "that interview" or mental health or women's safety.

Personally, I think the interview is dividing people when we really should be sticking together. My personal view is the media have a lot to do with this. They have treated Megan differently. They were also really harsh about Caroline Flack before she ended her life and so I think the media needs to be kinder. The people they talk about are human beings and they have feelings. It will affect them. Mental health shouldn't be ignored.

Then there is women's safety. For as long as I can remember I have always been afraid walking home in the evenings. I am always looking over my shoulder. But I like many others have experienced things at the hands of men, like being followed home in broad daylight by a man, who I ended up hiding from. I couldn't have anyone walk too closely behind me for years without it filling me with anxiety, That is just the tip of the iceberg to be honest, that as a woman I have endured at the hands of men. Even after this incident, it was mentioned that by talking to the man when I should have ignored him, therefore I was to blame. It shouldn't be that way. He was following me and I had to detour to get home in broad daylight on my way home from college. Nobody expects that to happen.

Now I am not saying all men are like this but there are some. I know there are enough women out there who have experienced things at the hands of men. That is enough to scare them and to affect them. Women shouldn't have to live in fear because of men. We should be able to feel safe.

What hits home with the story for me personally, is I used to live in London and in Brixton and so this could easily have been me.

Stay safe and look out for each other.
